Local pioneers in the environmental production of ready mix concrete, mortar and floor screeds, Eco-Readymix, have taken delivery of an innovatively designed Volvo FMX 8x4 rigid chassis.
Supplied by Dave Hill, Customer Solutions Manager at Thomas Hardie Commercials Ltd.’s Deeside dealerpoint, the FMX 8x4 rigid features an X-High B Ride 5,100mm wheelbase chassis with a Day Cab. Powered by Volvo’s D11K engine rated at 410hp, the new arrival also comes with an I-Shift automated manual transmission system driving Volvo RTS2370A single reduction drive axles with a ratio of 2.83:1. Designed in conjunction with Eco-Readymix for its bespoke operational requirements, the Roltech Multi-Pod ready mix mortar body is equipped with five separate compartments for multiple product deliveries.
“Our multi-compartment bodies are under constant development and the latest Volvo FMX 8x4 rigid moves the bar upward again,” reports Gary Billington, Owner and Managing Director at Eco-Readymix. “We always maximise vehicle utilisation to provide our customers with unrivalled service levels and time critical deliveries. Volvo Trucks are equal to the best around and they seem to carry weight better than any other marque,” Gary adds.
Eco-Readymix has taken delivery of nine Volvo trucks during the last 18 months and all are multi-compartment ready mix transporters. The company has also restored its 20-year old Volvo FM7 rigid, which still works every day.
Gary Continues, “our long serving Volvo rigid continues to play a key role in business, as it’s used as a back up vehicle to guarantee our timed delivery slots.”
Gary Billington also reports positively on his local Volvo Trucks dealerpoint. “The levels of service we receive from Thomas Hardie Commercials Ltd in Deeside are brilliant. We also opt for four year Volvo Gold Service Contracts and in between these planned workshop visits there have been no issues whatsoever. Our drivers like Volvo trucks and that’s important.”
Operating from two depots in Wrexham and one premises in Ellesmere Port, Eco-Readymix currently employs a total of 40 staff. Still family owned and operated by three generations of Billingtons, the company remains at the forefront of environmental developments and supplies the highest quality products to the countries’ leading housing developers, civil engineers and construction companies along with DIY self builds.
